It’s been a really long time since we had a good browse through one of our favourite online stores for affordable and stunning furniture: Cult Furniture. If it’s a particular on trend piece you’re after or something that mimics a designer’s style, this is the best place for it. We were on looking for a rug and we wound up with such a solid wish list of things we don’t need but desperately want, we thought we’d share it with you. The thing about Cult Furniture is that in Ireland, it’s still relatively under utilised (it’s a UK site), so if you’re looking for a little bit of originality or something that you won’t find in every Irish home, you’ll be delighted.
They have brand new stuff almost every week, but here’s some of what we’re loving at the moment.
This low stool with brass detailing and velvet fabric, shown here in pink but available in everything from royal blue to burnt orange. €99 and a total showstopper in your living room or bedroom.
This Gatsby inspired round glass shelving unit. It’s a bit pricey at €336, but it’s rare to find something that looks so perfectly art deco without it being genuinely art deco (which would set you back a lot more. Perfect for your champagne coupes.
These brown leather stools for your kitchen island or breakfast bar. While wooden three-legged stools are chic and minimal, there’s a lot to be said for a comfortable back that you can sit into for a good while without getting agitated on. The black legs with metal details and the tan buttery leather upholstery? Dream. €224 (warning: it’s faux leather not genuine leather, but it still looks the part).
Their stool game remains strong, especially for lovers of velvet. These are just gorgeous and like the shorter stools, these come in a range of colours. Delightfully affordable at €149.
Continuing with our brass/gold theme, we love this cutie little lamp for a bit of retro chic in your living space. It’s cheeky, it’s not in your face but the detail allows for a point of interest. €161.
Combining two of our favourite things – concrete and gold – this clock is worthy of your wall, especially if it’s nestled among a gallery wall of prints. Top tip: pick up hints of gold and brass in your wall prints and frames to bring the whole look together. €49.
A great coffee table statement, this gold vase sits inside a blue concrete vase which you can keep as one for a contemporary edge or use separately if you’ve got two bunches of flowers that need a home. They pop out of each other. €86.
This round gold antique metal wall mirror because gorgeous and effortless wall mirrors are surprisingly hard to come by with a price tag of just €124. Perfect hallway feature.
This round coffee table. Gold legs, marble top, round shape (no sharp edges) – everything you want in a chic coffee table, really. €349.
Finally, with just a hint of gold (which makes it), we have the Effie armchair in a gorgeous charcoal grey velvet. Don Draper eat your heart out. An investment at €499 but it looks like it’s worth a lot more.
