Sponsored by Ford Ireland and the all new Ford Focus, helping us focus on our passion: interiors
A day in the life of GAFF? Well, no two days are ever the same, but some things are certain; there will be tonnes of design and decor inspo, plenty of Instagramming, lots of tea and of course time spent exploring the city we love so much, the city that fuels our passion: interiors. It’s really only when we get out from behind our screens and into the real world that we get the ideas flowing – so that we can then really focus – and Dublin is a hub of homeware inspiration, once you start looking.
First, it’s off to Burrow Beach in Sutton in the all new Ford Focus where we clear the heads – get the mutt exercised – and marvel at the mansions who call this beautiful beach their back gardens. If it’s Hamptons style living you’re after, this is as close as you’ll get in Ireland.

Lately, we’ve been spending an awful lot of time around Drury Street, arguably the most creative quarter of the capital city. Here, we adore Industry for their cutting edge minimalist interiors and of course the Georges St Arcade. It’s rare we walk drive these streets without pining for an exposed brick wall at home. Nothing stirs our creative passion like an afternoon spent here.

Another favourite of ours is the incredibly coveted and recently opened The Grayson on St Stephen’s Green. Muted, moody colour palettes mix with classy metallics and plenty of marble for a contemporary luxe aesthetic. Pop in for a coffee and you’ll leave feeling inspired.
9 Below is worth also popping into (also on the green) and though it’s pricey, the interiors are totally worth it. Mad Men eat your heart out.

Store wise, we love the high street of course, but for interiors inspiration we have to give some love to independent stores such as April and the Bear who opened their new home Cow’s Lane in Temple Bar earlier this year. The homewares here are so carefully curated that you’ll want everything and you’ll also just want to move into the store itself.
And don’t forget the recently opened Appassionata store on Clarendon Street (just beside the Westbury) where you’ll not only get lots of quirky plant ideas (their upside down planter blew our minds) but also plenty of homewares too. Again, the space itself will inspire you to add some neon to your home and paint your walls in a dark colour. Perfect gifting store too.
We also spend a lot of our time in the burbs too and of late there’s been lots happening in Phibsborough – which is a nice midway point between the two of us. Two Boys Brew is a favourite brunch spot of ours and we are also loving the new Legit Coffee across the road. If you’re toying with the idea of exposed concrete at home, this will help you decide. What’s more, both of these spots prove that sometimes all you need is a little greenery to make a room feel homely. Cascading planters from a height are key.
Naturally enough, when Ford Ireland asked us to take their new Focus and use it to help team GAFF get our creative juices flowing last week, we jumped at the chance. What’s more, with so many styling projects, and as we geared up for the hugely successful GAFF Christmas pop-up last weekend, we needed to be able to get around with ease! We were delighted to the opportunity (and that big boot) to collect something special we’ve been working on for a while: our very own bespoke GAFF neon sign, made by Club Neon. This has been on our wish list since we started over two years ago and now, finally, we get to take it home.
Check out our 60 second video whirlwind of what dream GAFF days are all about for us, and this dream day was made possible by our shiny new friend.
We’ve documented every last step of the day on our Instagram, so check out our feed, stories, and highlights for the full story. And if you want to find your Focus, check out the Ford Instagram and website for more on what this car allowed team GAFF to achieve in one short November day.
We adored the all new Ford Focus and all of its wonderful features – including Active Park assist, live traffic, WiFi and even heated seats for extra comfort in winter – that allowed us to really focus on our passion for interiors.
