Green never goes out of style. There is no doubt that the houseplant trend is continuing to blossom within the interior design world, and we totally understand why. Greenery adds so much life and character to your interior, that a room would almost look empty without it. Not only do plants level up your home decor, they also work as a natural solution to improve the air quality by releasing oxygen and removing many indoor air pollutants. In other words, houseplants make your home both Instagram-worthy and healthier! We have gathered inspiration for clever ways to decorate with plants and incorporate more greenery at home.
On a kitchen shelf
Besides growing fresh herbs in your kitchen, you can always add a couple more green plants! Use that empty space on your kitchen shelf for climbing plants – like English Ivy or any other long plant, that can hang down from high shelves. Blend the plants in together with all the coffee cups, cook books and other kitchen essentials. A clever solution without taking up too much space in the kitchen.
In the bathroom
We know that the bathroom often can be less of a priority when it comes to home decor. But it can easily be solved with some plants and greenery that will bring life to your bathroom. It will brighten up the atmosphere and increase that home spa feeling that we love, mmm! Depending on the bathroom space, you can either place a big palm tree in the corner, smaller plants on top of the sink or hang plants in the shower. If you have limited space for plants on the window boards, or simply love the thought of having your own mini botanical garden indoors, create a green corner in your home! Add various plants together on a plant stand, a plant ladder or why not on a vintage cart? A brilliant solution that works in the living room, bedroom or in the hallway. So clever and gorgeous.
On your bedside table
While a completed bedside table must have room for your favourite book or magazine, some greenery will make it adorable (and help you sleep better)! Declutter and fill the space with a plant or flowers in a pretty vase. And if you feel even more inspired – style the plants in harmony with the textiles of the room.
A tall plant in the living room
It might sound like a cliché, but to bring nature inside really does give your home a lively vibe and energy. Therefore, the living room obviously needs greenery as well. Place a tall plant (or a smaller tree) in the corner of the room and it will give the living room so much character.
Perfect plants for this are palm trees, fiddle leaf fig tree, cactus or why not an olive tree? Remember that some of these plants thrive best in more sunlight, so simply place them near a window and if possible on the balcony during the warm summer months.
