If you’re as interiors obsessed as we are, you’ll struggle to watch a film or TV show that boasts a gorgeous interior spread without losing track of the plot completely. Recently, we went to see Woody Allen’s Cafe Society on the big screen, and, set in 1930s America, it’s as though the set design was a character in itself. If you go to see it for the interiors alone, you’ll love it (PS it also happens to be a very lovely film too). That got us thinking about other movies that boast covetable interiors. Once we started digging, we couldn’t stop, and we realised just how much inspiration we draw from the screen, both big and small.
If we were to chronicle every movie and TV show with incredible interiors, we’d be here for a very long time. Instead, here are just some of our favourites. From the English country cottage in The Holiday to every single corner of Mad Men’s set, movies and TV are a constant source of GAFF inspiration.
