GAFF tour: Louise Cooney’s minimalist chic apartment – GAFF Interiors

GAFF tour: Louise Cooney’s minimalist chic apartment

It’s been a while since we had a virtual snoop inside someone’s home. This time, we’ve been granted access behind the scenes at fashion and lifestyle blogger Louise Cooney’s Dublin apartment. Having recently moved home from New York, Louise clearly has the NYC loft style vibe sussed. Her decor is simple, pared back and minimalist; the perfect backdrop for the many photoshoots she does as part of her work. Wall prints are a staple here; they add elegance even to the toilet. We asked Louise about her favourite places to shop for interiors (aside from GAFF Shop, obviously, where you can pick yourself up one of a kinds and pre-loved GAFF approved beauties, smug in the knowledge that you’re positively contributing towards a sustainable, circular economy), her best decor hacks and more.

Louise, how would you describe your home style?

‘I would describe it as contemporary and bohemian. I love bright spaces with a clean finish but also I love a wooden finish and making a place feel more homely with plants and wicker textures and flowers.’

Favourite lace to shop online for interiors seeing as we can’t get into an actual store right now?

‘Jysk has amazing Scandinavian pieces for amazing prices. I love Anthropologie and H&M Home for their decorative pieces. Marks & Spencer have a good selection too. Meadows & Byrne are a great Irish company who have such beautiful homeware’.

What home decor accounts are you loving to follow, besides GAFF (cheeky, we know)?

@Lustliving

Your best home bargain?

Probably the balcony furniture I’ve just ordered from Jysk. It’s so chic and stylish but the prices are so good.

Biggest home splurge?

Art work. We got a gorgeous canvas painting from Chris O’Hara art, and I’ve just ordered a beautiful resin art pieces from Hazel Murray. Two very talented Irish artists.

What’s your best decor hack?

My decor hack is all to do with storage. Having a place to store everything and keeping it out of sight is an easy way to elevate a space. IKEA have amazing storage units for very reasonable price, as do Penneys and Dunnes.
