So, last night we were among the few who got to suss out the Autumn homeware offerings from Penneys and while it’s no surprise that we’re a fan of their stuff, these trends take it to the next level. We couldn’t get over how fancy – and a lot more expensive than they really are! – that all of their soft furnishings looked and the price points are delightful.
As we ease into summer, there are two trends that you can get your hands on now – Minimalux and Lazy Summer.
Contemporary in style, their Minimalux story remains sleek and minimalist, bringing the mantra ‘ease is luxury’ into interiors. Remnants of the art deco vibe and neo-Georgian décor seen in previous seasons still remain, yet it is partnered with a stripped back tonal colour palette that develops it further. The hero pieces in this collection include palmistry prints with celestial scenes on cushions and coloured marble and gold gilded ceramics. Key colours are cool grey, soft salmon pink and metallic gold which are championed and add exuberance to any interiors space. Whether you wish to incorporate Art Deco from floor to ceiling or just add a splash of agate green or dusty aqua into the mix, this story is sure to elevate your sleek space to minimalistic grandeur.
*Prices range from €2.50 to €10*

Next up, there’s Lazy Summer, available in stores May through August.
This range is shaped around stonewash indigo and soft desert pink shades. Global references move it forward, with folk tapestry sitting alongside frosted pinks and shimmering baby blues. Lazy Summer is rustic yet refined – a welcomed palette cleanser following a summer full of neon brights. Fabrics are feminine in the range, with crushed velvet and glistening sequins mixing. Tufted patterns with fringing, pom-poms, and embossed materials add extra luxe details. Rose gold is going nowhere and is emblazoned on bedroom accessories through to kitchenware.
Last but by no means least – and arriving a little later in stores, so keep your eyes peeled closer to September – they have Hygge, which for all of our efforts we’re not sure we’ll ever be able to pronounce.
It brings us great joy to share with you all of the incredible homeware bits and bobs you can buy for less, but sometimes they’re just o bloody good, we’d prefer to be selfish and keep it to ourselves. Race you to the nearest Penneys store?
For the Hygge collection, the Danish influence is layered on, and a deep sense of warmth, coziness, calm and contentment is conveyed. This trend is all about your comfort, your lifestyle and home régime. Staying in is the new going out and at Primark we have this covered with our collection of faux fur rugs and sheepskin throws. Dotted on wooden chairs or in front of a cozy log fire they create a natural, earthy feel. Materials such as wood, stone, and brushed copper add to the ‘less is more’, homely atmosphere. To finish the look candlelight creates ambiance, while quilting and knit texture bedding, soft furnishings and throws all help to escape from winter’s chill. Colour combinations come in a variety of neutral tones such as egret, birch, oyster grey, and pure cashmere that are then accented by peach blushes and ash greys.
