We know, you’re probably breaking out in hives at the mere utterance of the word ‘Christmas’, but who are you kidding? You know you’re DYING for the opportunity to go absolutely bananas in your GAFF with festive adornments galore. We interiors nuts await the arrival of our favourite brands’ Christmas offering in the same way a music nut might chomp at the bit for their favourite festival line-up. It’s our jam, it gives us joy.
For us, Scandi-loving creatures that we are, nothing says Christmas quite like IKEA, and what’s perhaps more joyous, is their affordable price range. It’s so easy to gussy up your GAFF without spending a bomb and this taster of what you could do is just the beginning of the inspiration freight train coming your way.
This year’s collection, IKEA tell us, is inspired by late 19th-century Swedish folklore. Embracing simplicity with authentic and warm materials – yarn, wool, leather, linen, felt, natural woods and metal. Unwrapping traditional patterns and prints, presenting muted, natural colours, as well as all the seasonal golds and reds. The winter collection ranges from decoration to lighting, textiles, dinnerware, cooking and eating. Everything to make home feel super inviting this year.
So, instead of bemoaning the fact that the summer is no behind us, let’s just embrace what’s to come. Twinkling lights, cosy soft furnishings and so many excuses to stay wrapped up indoors. Heaven.
