WFH. Those three little letters have become more important than we ever could have imagined over the last year. That’s why when Lucozade Revive asked us to help you revive your workspace with some of our top tips, we hopped to it.
2020 plunged many of us into WFH for the first time ever, and let’s just say, our prep wasn’t necessarily en pointe. We definitely faced some home adjustments, but thankfully we’ve learned a lot about setting up the perfect space. So let’s get to it!
Define your Space: With so many of us having to make our homes more multi-purpose than ever before, it’s important to create a WFH space that feels separate from the rest of your home. That could mean zoning the area with a rug, styling it up with pieces in a different style to the rest of your home, or lighting a specific candle just for when you’re at your desk.
Floral Boost: One of the biggest challenges we are all facing WFH is that groundhog day feeling. We are going from our bedrooms to the kitchen to the office all in the space of a few meters. Bringing nature to your WFH space can help boost your energy and mood, and help you to feel as though you’re in a different environment. Investing in fresh flowers or a new plant is one of the easiest, most effective ways to help breathe new life into your desk set up.
Pack it Up: We understand the psychological benefits of leaving an office each day help to separate us from our work life. That’s why we suggest you pack up your laptop, put away your notes and clear your desk at the end of each day. If you spot the laptop in the corner after dinner, you might be tempted to check emails one last time. Out of sight, out of mind could not be more important when it comes to work/life balance in 2021.
Create a Ritual: It’s easy to feel stuck when it comes to injecting joy into our WFH setup. That’s why creating a ritual you love is so important. Light your favorite candle. set up your laptop, take out a notebook that’s colourful and sparks joy, layout your fancy glassware to remind you to hydrate, and then begin the day. Rituals like this help us ease into the day, in the best frame of mind.
