9 Ways To Create A Pinterest-Worthy Garden This Spring

If our gardens were an emoji they’d be a sad face right now. Battered from the winter that just keeps on giving, our outdoor spaces are in desperate need of a little TLC, and while there are lots of practical tips that we’ll be sharing with you guys over the next few weeks, we thought we’d start with a little inspo to get our motivation levels to where they need to be. Here are our 9 ways to make your garden Pinterest-worthy this spring.

1. Swing Into Spring

How does your very own backyard swing chair sound? We spotted this lifestyle shot on House of Frasier and got inspired. Check out Outdoor Furniture and Tesco Direct for a whole host of hammocks and garden swings. We reckon having one of these in the garden is about as Pinterest-perfect as it gets.

2. Light It Up

The magic that lighting brings to any interior or exterior setting cannot be overrated. These fairy lights from IKEA will string over walls and greenery for €35. We’re also adoring these oversized outdoor lanterns for all of our nighttime garden dwelling needs. A candle in each will set the mood in darker corners and they’re also perfect for outdoor dining tables. Small Linea Cane lantern, €41, large €54 at House Of Frasier

3. Make The Practical Pink

OK, not EVERYTHING needs to be pink, but we love the idea that even a practical tool shed can be a talking point piece. Try this Brighton beach-inspired beauty from Cuckooland.

4. Do The Can Can

Watering cans are the perfect way to display your garden’s herbs or flowers, perch them on your doorstep or hang them for a cool makeshift bird feeder, €10 at Debenhams.

5. Shelve It

This gorgeous shot from Homesense has inspired us to think about outdoor shelving. if you have a couple of bare walls, try incorporating some shelves where you can hang tools, place flower pots and outdoor accessories and string your fairy lights to. Genius.

6. Rug Love

Outdoor rugs? Yes, please. Target has dozens of ’em and they’re the ultimate garden accessory this spring.

7. Dreamy Dining

This whole set up is a dream Instagram moment, (especially the sunshine and lack of drizzle part). We have to stay optimistic and hope that we’ll see a little sun this spring and summer and, when (not if) we do, we’re going to want to soak it all up.  What we love about this inspo is that it doesn’t matter what kind of table you have – there’s no need to go investing in a fancy outdoor one when a couple of trestle tables will do just fine. Add colourful throws like these for that festival-fancy feel, layer it up with mismatched plates and glassware and a candle or two and you’re singing. All from House Of Frasier, Torren stripe cushion, €20, Linea Penryn napkins (set of 4), €16, Dickins & Jones Alta 16-piece cutlery set, €59, Gray & Willow Seafare dinnerware from, €8, Linea Ella napkin (set of 4), €20, Junipa Rye dinnerware from €16, Linea Bubble tumbler, €8 each, Gray & Willow Mini marble vase, €22, Gray & Willow Navy bubble vase, €16, Linea Azure knitted throw, €64.

8.  Green Fingers

Whether you have a green lawn or no, your garden will need greenery. Try these planters by Orla Kiely and this hanging basket from Harvey Norman on for size.

9. When Life Gives You Lemons …

The perfect way to entice your guests over to your newly Pinterested pad? This lemonade dispenser and set or 4 drinking jars, €20 from dotcomgiftshop. Delicious.
